Why Apply for an E Visa Turkey?

There are two reasons why getting an e-visa is encouraged by the Turkish government. First of all, it offers much convenience for their guests. The entire application process is simple, fast, and automated. Second, an e-visa allows Turkey to accurately keep track of its foreign visitors through data analytics and related technologies.

Who Needs an E-Visa for Turkey?

Those who are traveling to this nation and not citizens of visa-exempt countries will need a visa to enter Turkey. Even younger children won’t be allowed entry if they don’t have their own Turkey visa.

There are two types of visa you can apply for: an electronic visa (or e-visa) and a conventional visa. Tourists and business travelers can conveniently apply for an e-visa. Meanwhile, people who are planning to work or study in Turkey must obtain a conventional visa instead.

Key Facts to Remember When Applying for a Turkish E Visa

Here are some key facts to keep in mind when applying for a Turkish e visa:

  • The Turkey e visa is only applicable for visitors planning to enter Turkey for tourism and business.
  • You may not apply for employment in Turkey with an e-visa.
  • You cannot study in any Turkish educational institution with an e-visa.
  • A passport must be valid for at least six more months after your date of entry to Turkey.
  • It is not possible to change the details of your E-Visa after it has been fully processed. This includes any changes in your travel dates.
  • You can visit a local police station for further assistance if you suddenly need to extend your visit. This will help in minimizing the repercussions of overstaying.
  • Your payment and e-visa address should be the same. Extra payment addresses are not allowed.
  • German and Swiss citizens don’t need to apply for an e visa Turkey online. They have a free entry privilege as long as they carry a valid passport and their stay won’t go beyond three months.

FAQs

1. Does EVisa for Turkey Have Exceptions?

Not all travelers who enter Turkey need a visa. Here are a few exceptions:

  • Those who are arriving on a cruise ship don’t need to apply for an electronic visa for Turkey as long as they don’t plan on staying ashore for longer than 72 hours.
  • Travelers who are only landing to change flights at a Turkish airport won’t require a Turkey e visa application. They won’t be allowed to leave the airport, though.
  • Truck drivers, documentary filmmakers, and archaeologists are required to apply for a sticker visa instead of an e-visa.

2. How Long is My E-Visa Validity Period and Maximum Length of Stay?

An Evisa Turkey Gov is valid for 180 days with a maximum length of stay of 90 days. The validity period will immediately begin upon your indicated date of arrival in Turkey. This is stated in the Turkish visa online application form.

You can then start enjoying the 90-day duration of your E Visa Turkey Gov after the validity period kicks in. You can spend this time on a single trip or on multiple trips, depending on your country of origin and specifically indicated travel details.

What if you don’t know your exact date of arrival? We recommend indicating the earliest date you can possibly arrive. Arriving at a later date won’t be an issue, as it will still be within your validity period. On the other hand, arriving earlier than your indicated arrival date can keep you from entering the country since your visa is not valid yet.

Here’s a useful tip: Give yourself a couple of days of leeway before your expected date of arrival. Suppose you plan on arriving in Turkey on August 6. It would be wise to state your expected date of arrival as August 3 or 4 instead. This gives your visa validity some breathing room should your trip be expedited for whatever reason.

3. How Do You Know if Your E-Visa Is Still Valid?

You will find this information indicated on the right-hand side of your e-visa. It should also indicate the number of re-entries you’re allowed to make, the start of its validity period, the end of its validity period, and the allowed duration of stay.

4. Can an E Visa Turkey Expire Ahead of Its Validity?

There are special cases that can cause your visa’s validity to expire earlier than expected. For instance, travelers whose passports will expire within the validity period of their visa can affect its length of validity.

Keep in mind that some countries allow you to travel with just a valid ID, travelers who used a passport during their application will need to refer to the validity of their passport. You can’t switch to a valid ID after your passport has expired if you didn’t use it initially as your supporting document.

5. What if I Need to Stay in Turkey for More Than Three Months?

Travelers who need to stay in Turkey for more than 90 days should apply for a residence permit. The application process will vary depending on your country of origin.

We strongly advise travelers to adhere to their EVisa Turkey Gov and permit stipulations to prevent getting fined, deported, or banned from returning to Turkey in the future. This country is very strict when it comes to its travelers’ length of stay.
